IV should work closely with Senator Cornyn on this amendment. IV can contact him and talk about re-introducing the amendment and can coordinate w/ him in persuing other senators.
IV should directly bring up issue w/ Senator Hiliary Clinton. She is getting lot of contribution from Indian community. Her action do not match her words of supporting our cause.

All they can do is stop your salary and not re leave you from the duties. Also the day you put in your papers, they might cancel your H1B, which jeopardizes your status. So prepare for this. File the H1 B first get the approval then quit. These days it is very hard to get the H1b Transfer done.
They can't do any thing else. All the best.

I badly need some advice with regards to a policy which i have in my current employment deputation letter for working in US.
A brief info about me :
1. I'm basically an employee of Wipro, India deputed in US on H1B.
2. As part of this travel, there is a mandatory clause to accept certain policies of wipro ensuring that i do not move out of wipro in USA without giving a 2 months notice and also a liquidity damages of 4,20,000 INR equivalent to 10,000 $.
My current issue :
1. Its been about 2 yrs that i've been serving for Wipro in US and now in a state where i want to move out. I got a pretty good offer from another company that augurs well for my future.
2. I Can give only 3 weeks of notice.
Advice needed :
1. Can i leave now with 3 weeks notice knowing that i had mandatorily signed the policy of wipro in india before coming over to USA.
2. What are the legal implications of this? If wipro serves a notice do i need to reply to that knowing that as per H1B labor laws of USCIS, a company cannot force anybody to give a notice period of more than 2 weeks?
Your suggestions will do a world of good to me. Thank you in advance.

PA DMV requires atleast one document which has a later expiry to issue license, Take a letter from her employer stating she will be working in PA until a later date (Say 12/31/2011 eg). Show it to them and they will issue license.

I seriously doubt the genuinity of this poster. No authority will hold a valid passport of a foreign country, no country will allow to let one in with a copy of passport heck the airline will not even allow to board without a passport.

How many years of years of W-2 form copies do we need to attach, when we file I-485 applications?
The more the better. Maybe you don't need to file them at all but rather than risk getting an RFE later, send them as much info as possible.
I sent all my W2 and tax returns since 7 years back...
An RFE shouldn't be too bad, you just waste a week or so. You'll be ok in any case.

The 45 member New Democrat Coalition supports the main tenets of high skilled immigration. In fact, recently a group of 16 House Democrats sent a letter to Hastert and Pelosi about this matter.

I agree that 1/2 million people can't impact housing market significantly.
but look at the numbers, 1/2 million people means $100 billion untapped
market. Personaly I can't imagine any business community who wouldn't consider
this huge potential market seriously.(We are not poor
immigrants that they can ignore, we are professinals with good credit)
Who knows they might help a little to push our issues in DC or reach our goal of
raising 60K !

Hey Renata,
It was struggle with my wife;thanks God she got the EAD more than a year ago. Therefore she is working now and a little happier. I am also OK in my current work. The problem is that I have missed more than 4 job offers that would allow further career growth and potential much better rewards.
Since my wife couldn't work, we had a baby back then.
Tell me, which country in Europe are you from ? I have a very good friend of mine who is Italian. By the way, if you are in the Seattle, WA area, feel free to come over and join us. We get together for good wine, lasagna, "churrasco", etc pretty much every weekend with our Italian friends. The way I see it, is that while we wait for this insane visa bulletin advancement, at least we should allow ourselves to drink a good wine and eat nicely :-)

He is much more in favor of Europe and since I have EU passport we can basically live anywhere and he would be able to work the next day :D I feel like I have put so much effort into this by now that I'm not walking away this close. Of course you can work using your EAD for your Employer. The reason why so many still remain on H1(even after getting EAD) is because if the I-485 (AOS) is denied, they can still continue to work on H1 and maybe restart the whole GC process. But its not possible once you switch to EAD. You cannot fall back to H1.

Bush is for immigration reform.
I see people disliking him, but to be fair to him, that man had some very good ideas when he became the president. He was unlucky that 9-11 happened when he was just 9 months into presidency and inexperienced, but his response was good, and it was wrong for him to go into Iraq as the reasons were all wrong. That was a huge mistake, probably in-expereince, wrong advisors, oil lobby, and some of the fear from 9-11, all contributed to that decision.
Overall, he has done more in terms of changing things, and has started debates on more controversial issues than anyone before. He has done more for the world trade, es[ecially countries like India, China and Brazil. He has gone beyond racial and gender factors, as reflected in choice of his staff and advisors.
Debates have to be started before anything happens and sometime it takes years, even after the presidency is over.
It's easy to blame him for everything as he is the face we see. I am not a Bush supporter, but actually a huge Clinton fan, but I think we tend to be overly unfair to the man. He has an office that comes with blames, sometimes decisions are not easy and you could go wrong either way. I think he tends to err on side of doing more than less, while Clinton was opposite and kept things stable, but also didnot start changes or lay grounds for change to take place.
As a president I think he has probably done more, or sets things in motion, more than Clinton did. Sometimes things need changing, and initial in-stability goes with the change.
The Judicial system is run by Bush and et al..they wont listen to soemone who they are not answerable to.
