Hi,
I have thrown a challenge to IV DC chapter about who will get a bigger gathering on 07/14, San Jose or D.C.
Our Chinese friends are also posting this at Chinese grocery store, on websites and also at local news forums.
I need volunteers in bay area! Please send me a PM with your e-mail address, if possible phone numbers and a good time to contact so that we can spread the word in Bay area. I already have one volunteer need more.

maybe we can do web fax ,. so members can fax these information as well, and the media knows they need this .. can this be done?
I think it may be too late to fax now. It is already 10 Am EDT.

I believe, the family quota is not very farbehind. Defiantly not 4 years.
Even if it is 4 years. She has EAD and AP to hold on to. Instead of both being stuckup it would be better atleast one reaches shore immediately.

Not sure if its a BREAK or no Visa numbers...
On a serious note, there have been 4 cases approved today(from other site - 2 cases from India and 2 from ROW). So looks like there are some ROW applications also in queue during this time of the year getting approved. I saw someone from EB2-ROW getting 485 approved (filed 140/485 concurrently) in a record time of just 30 calendar days(Filed on July 26th and approved Aug 25th). Never heard USCIS was so efficient.
Looking at the positive side, since they are still approving ROW cases, it may mean that spillover is still happening and there are visas available.

So, we're back to the semantics. We need USCIS/DOL definitions of "permanent" and "legitimate"--not the definition just for educators/tenured teaching positions, as desi3933 gave. If we don't have the definitions, we can/can't assume anything/everything. Therefore, self-employment in same/similar occupation, with a *projected* cash flow, should be classified as "FT, permanent."

I said this before, Permanent job does not mean "forever", it simple means it has no fixed end date (i.e. indefinite duration). That said, most of the Permanent Jobs are, in fact, at will jobs.

We finally got the CPO email for my wife and I today morning.
Had done all the follow-up like SRs, Infopass, Congressman inquiry. Not sure what worked.
After 10 years, we are finally greened. I sincerely hope for everyone who is current to be greened in time.

POE will be peace bridge niagara falls.
I think it will be smooth. Landing by road is easier than by air. You need to do the following as soon as you have landed. I recommend you land early in the morning as gov. offices are closed at noon:
1. Locate an HR office and get your SIN number. This will take 30 min to an hour once you are there. You will need to show your Passport and COPR document as a proof.
2. Locate the medical insurance office and obtain your medical insurance card.
3. Go to the post office and obtain a PO box.
4. Open a bank account. Use the PO box address as mailing addres.
Good luck.

I'm just sharing what my attorney told me about AC21. He says that he always has his clients inform the USCIS (not that one has to but that's what he does for his clients). He says that apparently before the USCIS adjudicates the I-485, they tend to issue an RFE, just to make sure you're working or have the job offer etc. So an RFE isn't unusual or a problem, it's just routine. Also, he says to make sure that the old company makes the job fit. He said to check the codes from the labor cert. approval to see if the new job falls within the same category as the old. I certainly will use AC21 when I find a new job and I wish everyone luck whatever you decide to do.

Did you try Ombudsman route? It may take a few more weeks, I guess it is worth a try.

I am in same situation who has sept 10th ND from TSC , no FP for me or my wife. I did open a SR and i got a response letter saying that either your FP has expired or clearance has not been received.. will send one by mail soon.
It has already been 45 days since the letter was dated. NO FP nothing.
Has going to IO helped anybody is getting a FP notice? That seems my last resort.
No update from my side. I had called last week and week before that. Apparently I got the same IO the last two times and first time she told me no FP scheduled , security check cleared. Second time she said no FP scheduled and I asked about security check and she said its still pending. Imagine same IO giving inconsistent information regarding my security check. I am not even sure to believe anything they say anymore. I am not even sure if they really look it up or not.
