Congrats to all who are PRs now!
After CPO e-mail, card arrives within 10 days.
Chain of events are not consistent but usually at 1or 2 days interval, approval and welcome e-mails are seen as hard LUDs.
I-797 notice of approval is enough to go to district office and have I-551 stamp in passport. This is the proof of GC.
Enjoy, do not worry and relax!
Remember your family, friends and IV.
Please be generous in contributing (my continued participation, advisement and $$$$.....).
Recurring contribution, small is beautiful and kaizen would help us all.
Wish you all to be best citizens and ambassadors of peace, prosperity and happiness!!
I directly got the Approval notice e-mail on the 4th - I also got the approval notice this week - I-797C -i.e Monday - but no cards as yet ?
I did not get welcome notice nor did I get the CPO mail.

Guys
We are doing this to help everyone. Especially, those whose PD is still current as per September VB, if you act with in next 5-10 days, you have a chance. if you can individually file a law suit when your PD is current.Since my guess is, the lawsuit we are working on in this thread, will take some time to shape up. But this is a Biggie, we want to create a big impact. Meanwhile, folks who are out there waiting since 2001,2002.... you can follow the links that i pasted in my previous message. People have won lawsuit very similar to the one we are talking about. I can even paste some of the I-485 lawsuits filed because of unreasonable and unnecessary delays, when PD is current.

You wouldn't have felt that way if you were EB-3 India sittinig for last 8 years, reading Visa Bulletins every months, just to find it still in Oct'2001...And if you ask USCIS what's going on they ask you 5K.
Funny how some people call this country cap 'discrimination.' If this is discrimination, then everybody is being discriminated, as the country cap applies to all countries, not just India and China. Since everybody is 'discriminated,' then it is not discrimination anymore.:)

I am wondering none of these senators who responded as of now understand our request for adding the provision of recapturing unused visas. Please read below response from IOWA senator and not even one word about our request.
I appreciate you taking the time to share with me your views regarding S. 729, the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act. The views of my fellow Iowans are an essential component of my decision making process as a Member of Congress.
As you may know, Senator Richard Durbin introduced S. 729 on March 26, 2009. This legislation would allow unlawful immigrants who entered the U.S. as minors to gain eligibility for higher education benefits based on state residence, unless a U.S. citizen is eligible for the same benefits. S. 729 has been referred to the Senate Committee on Judiciary. You will be interested to know that Congressman Howard Berman introduced H.R. 1751, the American Dream Act, on March 26, 2009, which would create a similar law. H.R. 1751 has been referred to the House Committee on Judiciary and the House Committee on Education and Labor. Please be assured that I will keep your views in mind should the full House consider this issue during the 111th Congress.
Our nation faces many challenges, and economic recovery is vital if we are to meet them. As a senior member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, I will continue building upon the job creation opportunities that I have delivered to the 3rd District in order to expand commerce, spur business development, and provide economic opportunity to all. I periodically provide electronic updates on issues I think my constituents might be interested in. If you would like to receive the E-newsletter, please sign up at my Web Site at Congressman Leonard Boswell : Home (http://boswell.house.gov). As always, please feel free to contact me or my office if ever you think we may be of assistance.
Sincerely,
Leonard L. Boswell

Desi393, FinalGC, Ramba:
You've mentioned a few times on this forum that on AC21, the job needs to be "permanent." That is misinformation, since the Yates memo you quote doesn't say that. Also, what do you mean by a "permanent" job? I haven't seen a job offer letter in the US saying that the job would be "permanent" (whatever that means). Also, what do you mean by "legitimate
" employment? Could you quote a USCIS resource?
Another misinformation I've seen on this forum is advising people to "file AC21." First, no USCIS resource mentions that. Second, you're are *not* required by USCIS to inform them of every job change if you're invoking AC21.
sankap - I think these folks are asking you to be cautious. AC21 RFEs request if the prospects of employment.
the "permanant" job means "the job is always there" as per projection.
even if your employer has consulting business - as long as you are employed with this employer under w2 "yours" is a "permanant job" at that time projected - things MAY change later.
The same works with self - employment. As long as your self employed as drawing w2 salary and doing the same duties - it is permanant employment.
So lets not get confused here. If you project that your current job is ONLY temporary in nature then that does not qualify as a permanant job.
Being self employed and doing consulting work means you r constantly doing projects under your own corp which is perm job.
Lets discuss this in detail - i will get back to this as my kid is not allowing me to type now

I feel more H1b visas alone and/or nurses visas only would actually be bad for us. It takes some of the pressure off the senators from the Tech Lobby/healthcare lobby. In fact one of the silver linings in this last week is that nothing at all was done. This is sure to keep the pressure rising in the start of the 110th congress.

I don't think having a MS degree supercedes a BS always.
How can you compare say for example a BS+10 yrs person with a kid just out of school doing MS. Doesn't jive. I think at somepoint both level off. Just merely having a MS degree doesn't mean anything without experience.
IT is not just one such field. You would find other's too. Financial aspect that you are talking is a whole different topic
No one is comparing a BS + 10 years to a M.S from a U.S university. And please refrain from saying "kid"( just bcos he/she is attending a university here), you could be speaking about some one from a REC or an IIT with a Master's or a PHD from a IV league U.S school so lets show some respect to peoples intellects.

Is there anyone who is with me, anyone at all? I need around 15 people to kick this off...
I am just looking for three things
a) A letter that we will jointly send to few people. Urging them to follow a fair system.
b) Talk to your lawyer to discss with AILA
c) Talk to you chapter leader.
I have not read your controversial posts others are referring to but about this one, this is a genuine cause and I am with you for this.
